16 de September de 2025Granada becomes the epicenter of gastronomy with ‘ENCLAVE’, the 1st International Congress of Southern European Gastronomy
The event will feature the presence of more than 50 Michelin stars and 45 Repsol suns, along with local producers, distributors, emerging chefs and food critics.
The Deputy for European Funds, Development, Industry, and Employment, Antonio Díaz, presented the 1st International Congress "ENCLAVE Sabor Granada," a strategic event promoted by the Granada Provincial Council and organized by the provincial institution's agri-food brand "Sabor Granada," with the support of Gusto del Sur, the quality brand of the Regional Government of Andalusia, and the institutional endorsement of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy. It will be held on November 10th and 11th at the Granada Science Park.
Díaz, who was accompanied at the presentation by Carmen Lidia Reyes, the Regional Delegate for Agriculture, Fisheries, and Rural Development of the Regional Government in Granada, noted that “Granada is a truly unique geographical enclave in Europe, a 'small continent' in itself. Its extraordinary orographic and climatic diversity gives rise to seven distinct natural areas. Each of them produces foods with its own identity, generating a diverse and exceptional pantry of subtropical products, olive oils with designation of origin, high-altitude wines, mountain cheeses, vega vegetables, dry-climate cured hams, and countless local specialties. This territorial wealth translates into a diverse, creative, and extremely high-quality gastronomy, making Granada an emerging benchmark in Spanish cuisine.”
Furthermore, the deputy stated that "at the Provincial Council, we are committed to initiatives that transform local products into opportunities. And 'Sabor Granada,' our agri-food brand, is demonstrating this every day, with more than 360 companies in the sector, sustained growth, and ever-increasing market strength. In recent years, the brand has evolved and grown exponentially, acquiring a power that places it among the best-known and most valued brands nationwide."
For her part, Carmen Lidia Reyes, the regional delegate for Agriculture, Fisheries, and Rural Development in Granada, stated that "it is a pleasure to support this event, which will make Granada the epicenter of provincial, national, and international gastronomy." She emphasized that the province of Granada "is very unique because it concentrates a wide variety of quality products that chefs can then transform into excellent cuisine."
Reyes took the opportunity to congratulate the Provincial Council for events like this one, which "place Granada at the international epicenter of quality gastronomy."
The event
Under the theme "Taste in the Key of the Territory," the congress transforms Granada's diverse landscape, culture, and cuisine into a driving force for economic development and international projection. From the peaks of the Sierra Nevada to the Costa Tropical, passing through the Vega, the Alpujarra, and the Geopark, seven natural enclaves create a unique pantry in Europe and articulate a powerful gastronomic identity.
The event will feature more than 50 Michelin-starred chefs and 45 Repsol suns, along with local producers, distributors, emerging chefs, food critics, and institutional figures such as Luis Suárez de Lezo (president of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy) and Alfonso Marín Caffarena (Ibero-American Academy of Gastronomy). Presentations, show cooking sessions, workshops, sensory experiences, and a powerful exhibition area will transform Granada into a hotbed of culinary creativity, sustainability, and innovation.
Transforming territory into opportunity
ENCLAVE is also a showcase for the evolution of the 'Sabor Granada' brand, which now brings together more than 360 agri-food and hospitality companies, with annual growth of 30% in visibility and business volume. The congress reinforces its role as a driving force of identity and territorial cohesion, capable of connecting producers, distributors, restaurateurs, and influencers around a common narrative: flavor with its own origin and signature.
Social, economic and brand return
In addition to positioning Granada as an international culinary destination, ENCLAVE seeks to invigorate the local socioeconomic fabric, foster young talent, attract culinary tourism, and generate public-private synergies. Its professional, sustainable, and inclusive approach makes it a national benchmark for conferences of this type.
